ColourPop Ultra Matte Lippies review

Finally, I get to try the ColourPop Ultra Matte lippies. I got Dr.M, Jellies, Guess, Kapow, and the Foxy Mini set which includes the "bestsellers" Beeper, Clueless, Tulle, Creeper, and More Better.  Featured lips are Dr.M and Tulle. This is a perfect example of a love-hate relationship.

I was so excited about these. I tried Dr.M first. The color is gorgeous but instead of being a true green, its leans a bit towards a turquoise. I wore it to work and got tons of compliments. That was the pros, now for the cons. First off, the wand doesn't pick up enough product and I have to dip about 5 times to fully cover my lips. Secondly, and some may consider this a plus, the product dries super fast. So fast that my top lip is dry before I can finish the bottom. This is with thin coats. I also cannot purse my lips at all while its drying or it will create patches. Once it did dry, it was beautiful. But as soon as i smiled, it cracked and flaked everywhere. I reapplied it at least 4 times during my 8hr shift because it kept flaking. Thicker layers made it worse. Taking it off was a bitch and it left a slight stain for a lil while. The green stain on my lips made me look sick, hence the many reapplies. Love the color. Horrible application.

Now Tulle on the other hand went on like a dream. I was able to rub my lips together while it dried and no patches formed. It felt like my lips had on nothing. My lips felt soft but not drying. The color is similar to KVD Lolita but darker. The flawless application was also similar. This one didn't smudge or budge. No cracks or flakes.

I have not tried any others yet. Im somewhat hesitant because I'd hate for more of them to turn out like the green, and I can't return any of it. I gotta find my disposable wands for swatches before I do.

Orange Blossom Water Toner

I've never used a toner before. Honestly, I never understand its purpose. Being a fan of all things citrus, I wanted to try this, especially with all the benefits it claims.

Product Description:
Exquisitely delicate and refreshing to skin. You'll find this all-natural toner to be soothing while its astringent and antibacterial properties work to create a radiant and healthy complexion. Gentle and perfect for sensitive skin. Fight oil build up and acne-causing bacteria with a natural and proven toner.

- Skin clarifying properties nurture a radiant glow
- Minimize pore size
- Heal scarring
- Reduce inflammation and treat sun-exposed skin
- Hydrate and soothe skin
- Natural acidity will balance pH levels for healthy moisture and tone

This has a very pleasant scent thats not strong or medicinal. First I tried this on its own. It looks and feels like water. It felt great on my skin but didnt notice any difference.

I found an article that said baking soda and water paste helps with acne. So instead of plain water, I mixed this toner with the baking soda. I applied it with my finger tips and after rinsing, my fingers felt so soft. I also noticed the same softness when I removed the baking soda paste from my face. Of course, I followed up with more toner. I can definitely see improvement now. Im usually very oily but this toner helped to keep my face shine free for most of the day. The baking soda should have dried out my face but with the toner, my face was not dry at all. It felt soft and clean. And my acne is getting better. Now I know why toner is so important.

Dead Sea Mud Mask

Dead Sea Mud Mask - 100% Natural Face Mask - Detoxifying & Skin Clarifying Properties - ONLY the Sacred Dead Sea Mud - No Additives, Fillers or Unnecessary Ingredients - Clears Skin - Effective Treatment for Acne, Psoriasis, Eczema and More - Restorative Anti Aging Mask - Address Cellulite, Body Aches and More!

I am a mask addict. Can you tell? Im new to mud masks but I enjoy them just the same. This is another Dead Sea mud mask. But this one is different from the last one I tried. This one only has two ingredients: Dead Sea mud and grapefruit seed extract for freshness. It looks and feels like regular mud. The other mud masks I've tried, some feel more like a clay mask, more dense and thick. This one has a thin consistency. It applies smoothly with no grit. It doesn't tingle or anything. Rinsing was easy. After a few uses, I still couldnt notice any changes in my skin. The product says to use once a week but I upped it to twice a week to see if it made a difference. Still, not seeing anything. The container is huge and will take a while to put a dent into. I shared some with friends and family, hoping they have better success than I did. I will continue using it because I love masks but I cant say this one is anything special.

Yves Saint Laurent MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS

I had high hopes for this mascara but its nothing special. I do like the gold tube. Looks fancy. But I dont like the brush. It wouldnt coat my lashes good enough without getting it on my eyelid. It didnt clump or flake which is good. But overall, this is more for the name than the quality.

Beard Oil, Balm & Conditioner

My boyfriend has coarse facial hair. He washes his face with regular soap and rarely puts anything on it in terms of moisturizer, except after shaving. On more than one occasion, his short mustache hairs have stabbed me on my lip. I gave him some regular hair conditioner and told him to use it to soften his facial hair. He barely touched it. Then I found this set.

Smooth Viking Beard Products

Surprisingly, he's been using this set consistently. He likes the products and the packaging. The only complaint from him is that the balm is too hard. It says to use the back of your nail to scrape the product out but even with that, he said you dont get enough out. So the balm doesnt get used much.

We both can feel the difference. His beard is much more softer and I dont get stabbed anymore lol.

Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask

I love a good mask. I use them at least once a week. My favorites are the peel off masks because I dont need to have a sink and water to remove it. Lately I've been finding other kinds of masks like paper, exfoliating, and mud masks. I had a sample of a mud mask and it was nice but it was just a sample. Not enough to really notice any difference. This provided me plenty.

Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask

I like this mask. I was surprised that I could actually notice a difference after just one use. My skin was noticeably softer and less oily throughout the day. I like that its not runny or chunky or clay thick like some other mud masks I've tried. The consistency feels creamy like a lotion. I think I put it too close to my eyes the first time because the eucalyptus vapors made my eyes water a bit. No burning, just watery eyes.

Ive use this product several times, applied very generously, but I barely made a dent in the jar. I can see this lasting for quite some time.

Organic Dandelion Root Tea - With Hibiscus & Cinnamon

I consider myself to be an avid tea drinker. I prefer hot tea in the winter over coffee and hot chocolate, but I drink it year round. I love trying new flavors and creating my own combinations.

Honestly I was kinda skeptical about this one. Dandelions are considered weeds by some. I think theyre pretty to look at but as a tea, I never heard of it. Ive seen on tv and in movies that people make tea out of anything and usually its not good. But this isnt tv or a movie. And I've tasted a variety of teas, none of which were ever bad. So I figured, why not?

Organic Dandelion Root Tea - With Hibiscus & Cinnamon

I was surprised when the package arrived. I'll admit, I didnt fully read the description. So I was not expecting to get 5 boxes, 20 bags each. But hey, more to share. I kept 3 boxes for myself, gave one to my parents, and one to my boyfriend.

I brewed a large cup with two tea bags, lightly sweetened with honey. This stuff is DELICIOUS! I was amazed at how good it tasted. I had to get a refill. Its has a light taste, kinda like a white tea. The scent is subtle as well but nice and cinnamon-y. I really like this tea. And all the health benefits make it a winner. My dad and boyfriend both liked it as well, even though they were also kinda skeptical upon seeing the box. I combined two bags of dandelion tea and one bag of lemon tea, slightly sweetened with honey. The lemon tea is subtle on its own but with the dandelion tea, its a bit more pronounced yet still somewhat light. I really liked this tea.

Premium Delicates Laundry Bags

I was happy to find these. When washing my bras, the hooks would snag on other clothing causing damage. Or some kind of way, the underwire comes out. I needed something to help me save my clothes.

The pack of 4 bags has two medium and two large bags, one of the large bags is black. Though I was able to fit several items into each bag, I found that too many items causes the bag to open during the wash, defeating the purpose of using the bags. What worked for me was 2-3 bras in a medium bag, 4 in a large bag. Too many items also prevents them from drying completely.

I havent used them for any other clothes other than undies, but they do a good job with that. And the 4 pack allows me to have one ready for each load when it's a heavy laundry day. These get the job done.

Old Factory Scented Soy Wax Candles

I love candles. Burn them all the time. I switch up the scents depending on the mood. I want the scent to take me somewhere, pep me up, bring back memories, or just freshen the air.

Old Factory Candles makes a scented soy wax candle trio set in a variety of unique and fun themed scents. Each set contains 3 different 2oz candles, such as the Fresh & Clean set with Lemongrass, Olive Blossom, and Fresh Linen, or the Man Cave set with Straight Razor, Leather, and Mahogany. I opted for the Coffee Shop set with Coffee Bean, Hazelnut, Chai Tea.

All three candles were white with the scents label on the bottom. The Hazelnut was the strongest smelling of them all. Not in an overpowering way, but it had the boldest scent of the three, right out the box. Chai Tea was the first one I burned. I really like the spicy notes but it was the faintest of the three. The scent seemed to kinda fade after a while. That first light was when you could smell it best. The next one I burned was the Coffee Bean. I smelled just like a fresh brewed cup of coffee. I had to make some while I burned the candle cause I started to crave coffee. I decided that burning that one at night is not good before bed (LOL). Lastly was Hazelnut. It kinda smelled a little bit like Nutella at times. You can smell the richness in it. Even though Hazelnut had the strongest scent out of the box, it was Coffee Bean that had the strongest burning scent. Hazelnut came second and Chai Tea was last. But when I burned them all together, my mom said it did smell like a coffee shop when you walked thru the house.

I loved these candles so much and theyre so small, I burned them down in no time. Thats the only downside of this set; the candle size. The scent combinations are intriguing enough to make me want to try other sets. I liked this one so Im sure I would like some of the others. I want to try Man Cave or Vacation next.

Movie Review: Exodus: Gods and Kings

Finally got done suffering thru Exodus: Gods and Kings. Two and a half hours of ridiculousness, blasphemy, and GTFOHWTBS. Much like the movie Noah, this one also had a storyline that was so far fetched from the original story that it shouldn't even have the same names. Some of the worst examples are:

1. Moses walks around almost all of the movie without his walking stick. So there is nothing of him turning his stick into a snake. That whole part of the original story is left out. (how could you? That's one of the best parts of the story)

2. Moses is exiled, not because he kills someone, but because Ramses found out he was Hebrew. (so that's how yall doing it?)

3. The Red Sea doesnt part. Its just low tide. (booooooooo)

4. Ramses and Moses both get swept away when the water returns. And both live. (like really? REALLY?!? Pffft)

And the worst of all: God is portrayed by an 8yr old white boy. The bush burned in the background for a minute or two but it was the boy who spoke. NO. NO. NO. and NO. (this is the first time I had to stop the movie, but it wasn't the only time)

This was such a huge ton of crap. Took me several times to finish this movie cause its hard to watch such egregious faults. Dont watch it. You'll be pissed!
